Who we are
Pleasureville Christian Church is a biblically focused church where everyone is welcome. Our services and worship styles are more traditional for those who are eager to dig deeper into the Lord’s word. Our teachings prioritize the principles within the Bible and how we can apply them in our daily lives.
We emphasize on grace over judgment and the reflection of God’s love by providing a place of belonging for all. The Bible guides our church’s vision, practices, and mission. It is a place where people are encouraged to know God through His Word, to grow in holiness, and to share the gospel with others.

Brief History
Pleasureville Christian church began with it’s dedication to the Glory of God on Sunday, June 2, 1861… But was this its real beginning, or was its beginning sparked a half-century earlier on April 29, 1797? The first name of this community that is situated near the city of York, was Possumtown. The citizens felt this was undesirable and changed it to Pleasureville. Then the Church was fanned into flame.
In the winter of 1854-55 a resident of Pleasureville, Dr. George Conn, was converted to God during a meeting held in the Liverpool (Manchester) Union Church Dr. Conn then opened his home as a place of worship in the community, and United Brethren ministers commenced to preach there…
In 2023 Pleasureville United Methodist Church was one of several thousand who disaffiliated from the United Methodist Conference. The church was re-established as Pleasureville Christian Church, an independent faith community desiring to be outward focused toward the local and global community by Loving, Sharing, Caring, and Serving….just like Jesus did.
